Hello List,
I have created a custom OID and extended my snmpd.conf by adding the
following line:

snmpd.conf snippet:

exec 1.3.6.1.4.1.2008.2800.100.2.1 MemoryAvailableMB_vm2 /bin/cat
/usr/snmpdata/MemoryAvailableMB_vm2

When I walk the tree it returns a type of string, I would like to
change the data type that it is exported as. What is also strange is
that it appends 2 more octets to my OID, I'm not sure why this is, but
the data I care about is in the string:

[matt@server ~]$ snmpwalk -v1 -c public server.localdomain
1.3.6.1.4.1.2008.2800.100.2.2RFC1155-SMI::enterprises.2008.2800.100.2.2.1.1
= INTEGER: 1
RFC1155-SMI::enterprises.2008.2800.100.2.2.2.1 = STRING:
"coherence_MemoryMaxMB_vm2"
RFC1155-SMI::enterprises.2008.2800.100.2.2.3.1 = STRING: "/bin/cat
/usr/snmpdata/MemoryAvailableMB_vm2"
RFC1155-SMI::enterprises.2008.2800.100.2.2.100.1 = INTEGER: 0
RFC1155-SMI::enterprises.2008.2800.100.2.2.101.1 = STRING: "2048"
RFC1155-SMI::enterprises.2008.2800.100.2.2.102.1 = INTEGER: 0
RFC1155-SMI::enterprises.2008.2800.100.2.2.103.1 = ""

RFC1155-SMI::enterprises.2008.2800.100.2.2.101.1 = STRING: "2048" is
the data I care about, but I don't want it to be a string, I want to
override it's data type, however as you can see, the OID has 2 more
octets from that which is defined in snmpd.conf.

Any help/explanations is appreciated.

Thanks in advance
