Simply because no-one has written the necessary code.

If someone supplies a suitable patch, we'd be happy to include
it in future distributions. If no-one does the work, then this
won't happen.

If you're interested in doing this, it would probably be sensible
to look at the current development trunk (at least to start with).
The sensor support has been completely re-written, to provide
a much cleaner interface.
Have a look at the code in 'agent/mibgroup/hardware/sensors'
