Hello all,

I have a question about porting net-snmp-5.2.4 for linux on adm5120(mips 4kc cpu).

On my PC side, the cpu is intel PIII450, the OS is RedHat linux 9.0 and its kernel version is 2.4.20-8.
My snmp source files sv260a.c and sv260a.h are under directory "/net-snmp-5.2.4/agent/mibgroup".
I can run " ./configure --with-mib-modules="sv260a" --with-default-snmp-version="2" " and "make" to get
"/net-snmp-5.2.4/agent/snmpd", the snmpd can run on my PC correctly.

Now on my PC side, i'm porting net-snmp onto chip "adm5120" which has CPU mips-4kc and runs linux 2.4.18.
Here is my configuration command for net-snmp:
/configure --disable-debugging
--host=mipsel
--target="mipsel-linux"
--with-cc=mipsel-uclibc-gcc
--with-endianness=little
--with-mib-modules="sv260a"
--enable-mini-agent
--with-default-snmp-version="2"
while running make, there are errors, showing as follows:
...
/.libs/libnetsnmpmibs.a: could not read symbols: Archive has no index; run ranlib to add one
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [snmpd] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory 'net-snmp-5.2.4/agent'
make: *** [subdirs] Error 1

Does anyone know the reason? How can i configure the net-snmp package for adm5120(mips 4kc) to get the
correct snmpd? Maybe my configuretion options are somewhat incorrect. Can anyone show me some steps?

regards,
yecl
