I am not able to regenerate the same problem which I was
discussing with you. Once I am able to regenerate the problem, I will
let you know. Now snmpwalk works fine.
But I have another issue. I am running snmpd as follows:
snmpd -x tcp:localhost:705 -f -Lo -C -c /tmp/snmpd.conf -I interfaces
/tmp/snmpd.conf: line 1: Warning: Unknown token: rwcommunity.
/tmp/snmpd.conf: line 2: Warning: Unknown token: master.
/tmp/snmpd.conf: line 3: Warning: Unknown token: agentxRetries.
NET-SNMP version 5.2.4
Following is the content of my snmpd.conf file:
rwcommunity private 172.25.10.44
Q1. Why I see warnings for lines 1, 2 and 3?
Q2. SNMP Walk on "interface" works fine from any machine and community
name specified is also not having no effect. Any community name works.
Following is the command I tried from a m/c other than "172.25.10.44":
snmpwalk -v2c -c junk 172.25.20.33 interface
IF-MIB::ifNumber.0 = INTEGER: 3
IF-MIB::ifIndex.1 = INTEGER: 1
IF-MIB::ifIndex.2 = INTEGER: 2
IF-MIB::ifSpecific.2 = OID: SNMPv2-SMI::zeroDotZero
IF-MIB::ifSpecific.3 = OID: SNMPv2-SMI::zeroDotZero
IF-MIB::ifSpecific.3 = No more variables left in this MIB View (It is
past the end of the MIB tree)
Why am I getting output for SNMP Walk? I shouldn't be getting any
When I run snmpd as follows the behavior is proper. Even no warnings
come when snmpd is started:
snmpd -x tcp:localhost:705 -f -Lo -C -c /tmp/snmpd.conf
Please let me know if you have any idea on this problem.

That is why I asked you some specific questions.
It would be useful if you actually *answered* them.

No - not on the information you have provided so far.
I asked those questions for a reason. If you're not
going to answer them, I'm unable to help.
