Is it possible to set the community string, port, and SNMP version without using the .conf files from the code itself?

I know that I can use
netsnmp_ds_set_string(NETSNMP_DS_APPLICATION_ID,NE TSNMP_DS_AGENT_PORTS, "1161");

to set the port, are there equivalent functions for the community strings and version selection?

Thanks
