You've generated the configure files for 5.2.x/5.3.x with autoconf 2.61
instead of 2.59 which I don't think is safe yet. At the very least 2.61
configure would generate warnings like:

config.status: WARNING: /home/anders/src/net-snmp-5.3svn/Makefile.top
/home/anders/src/net-snmp-5.3svn/Makefile.in
/home/anders/src/net-snmp-5.3svn/Makefile.rules seems to ignore the
--datarootdir setting

which I think we've discussed earlier on -coders.

I've re-generated configure for 5.[23].x with autoconf 2.59. Feel free
to improve the 5.[23].x build machinery to properly work with *any*
autoconf >=2.59 (as we state in configure.in), so we can get rid of this
special-casing.
