Hi all,

I recently upgraded my net-snmp installation and noticed that the log
messages contains [\r\n] characters. Further investigation shows that
this is caused by revision 11770
http://net-snmp.svn.sourceforge.net/...revision=11770

Before 11770, [\f\n\r\t\v] is printed as a period ('.'). They are
printed as is after the revision. Can someone please tell me the
rationale behind this change?

While I can understand that sometime we want to retain the logs as is,
printing these white space characters can cause one single event to
occupy multiple lines in the log. Is it possible to cater for both
scenarios by introducing a new switch that specifies the behaviour?

Regards,
hoolun
