i've got a problem to change password from a windows xp sp2 client on a samba 3.0.2a server.
When i try to change password , windows give this error message :
"The system can't change your password now because the domain xxx is not accessible"
And in the samba logs i've got this :
[2006/12/11 08:49:36, 0] smbd/chgpasswd.c:check_oem_password(832)
check_oem_password: incorrect password length (886305395).
[2006/12/11 08:49:36, 1] rpc_server/srv_pipe.c:api_pipe_ntlmssp_verify(414)
api_pipe_ntlmssp_verify: User [TOTEM]\[plegrand] from machine SERVICE-INFO-01 failed authentication
on named pipe samr.
The most strange is that the password seems to be changed, because when i try to reconnect, the old
password dont works, the new one works fine.
the samba logs says that the password lenght is incorrect but in the smb.conf the default value is
set to five and the passords used is more than 5.
the error message from windows says that the domain is inaccessible but when i try to change the
passord i'm connected on
