The nmbd process on my samba server (Linux / RedHat 9 / samba version
2.2.7a) seems to be replicating itself. Although I can get it to
happen often, I have not found a sequence of events that will cause it
to happen every time. Usually it happens pretty quickly in normal
usage (browsing, etc.) Before it happens, this is what I see in the
process listing:

6681 ? S 0:00 nmbd -D

After it happens, I see this:

6974 ? S 0:00 nmbd -D

When I see this in my process list, I can no longer browse the server
from a windows client.
