I've a very similar issue as described in the posting below my question, but
I stuck somewhere before. Who has an advise for me?

I'd like to connect the internet from w2k workstations (with IE) through a
transparent squid proxy. The w2k workstations make their login via a w2k
PDC. I'd like to use this 'single' login also for the connection to the
internet.

After activating nmbd and winbind as well as going through the steps
described in (http://www.squid-cache.org/Doc/FAQ/FAQ-23.html#ss23.5)
I get the following messages, those don't really satisfy me ...

wbinfo -t
Secret is bad
0xc00000e5

wbinfo -a twdm01\\%
plaintext password authentication failed
error code was NT_STATUS_CANT_ACCESS_DOMAIN_INFO (0xc00000da)
Could not authenticate user twdm01\% with plaintext password
challenge/response password authentication failed
error code was NT_STATUS_CANT_ACCESS_DOMAIN_INFO (0xc00000da)
Could not authenticate user twdm01\ with challenge/response

Do I have to do some more configurations on the smb.conf or is there a to do
on the w2k PDC?

smb.conf
----------
[global]
workgroup = TWDM01
password server = tw-srv01
security = domain
winbind uid = 15000-15100
winbind gid = 15000-15100
winbind separator = /
winbind use default domain = yes
dns proxy = yes
os level = 7
time server = yes
unix extensions = yes
encrypt passwords = yes
printing = CUPS
printcap name = CUPS
socket options = SO_KEEPALIVE IPTOS_LOWDELAY TCP_NODELAY
wins support = no
character set = ISO8859-15
client code page = 850
veto files = /*.eml/*.nws/riched20.dll/*.{*}/

Thx
