  1. 11.0->12.0 Upgrade: Locating Packages

I'm in the process of upgrading my notebook from 11.0 to 12.0. I read on
the label of Disk 3 that the Extra Packages directory should be there. But,
it's not. The entire disk is KDE. Where do I find the /extra directory?

Also, in CHANGES-AND-HINTS I read that I should install a
generic-smb-2.6.21.5 kernel, but I cannot find that. On Disk 1, in the
kernel/ directory are subdirectories for huge.s/ and hugesmb.s/. Where are
    the generic kernels?

I had no problems finding kernels and extra packages in prior releases so
I'm puzzled why the seem missing in 12.0.

    TIA,

    Rich

Found the kernels in slackware/a/. Still haven't found the extra packages.

You must have MISlabeled the disks:
this is on install disk 2:
    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 12288 2007-06-29 07:35 kde
    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2007-06-28 08:31 t
    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 155648 2007-07-01 05:26 x
    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 22528 2007-06-29 07:35 xap
(under the "slackware" directory) while disk 3 DOES contain extra:
    drwxr-xr-x 28 root root 6144 2007-07-02 06:56 extra
    drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 2048 2007-07-02 06:57 slackware
(in slackware there is just "kdei", the internationalization files
for kde, while under extra there is):

Under slackware/a, as usual (on disk 1).
The kernel dir is just for BOOTING from the CD-rom.

PS: pasture etc is now on disk 5 (source disk).

No, I mis-typed KDE instead of KDEI.

I had been looking automatically under slackware/, having forgot that
    extra/ is a separate directory.

    Thanks,
