    To run that program you have to be running X, being logged in at a
    terminal console is nog enough. Once the DISPLAY environment variable is
    set to a local display like ":0" or a remote display like
    "remotemachine.net:0" you will be able to launch X applications like
    xterm, xclock or xine to that display. Of course the owner of the display
    will also have to give you the right to do so, otherwise you might get an
    error like:

    Xlib: connection to "memotemachine.net:0.0" refused by server
    Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
    Error: Can't open display: remotemachine.net:0
