Like many people, despite having solved The Hobbit, I have actually
wondered how the two complex areas were laid out - I refer of course to
the Misty Mountains and the Goblins' Caves.

Over the last few days, I think I have got it.

I have numbered similarly named places to distinguish them - the numbers
are somewhat arbitrary. I have also worked out exactly where you get to
from each of the entrances.

If someone else could sanity-check this, I would be grateful.

The Misty Mountains:

From the Misty Mountain:

N - 1st narrow path
S - 7th narrow path

1st narrow path:

NE - 2nd narrow path
E - 3rd narrrow path
S - Misty Mountain

2nd narrow path:

N - 4th narrow path
SW - 1st narrow path
S - Misty Mountain

3rd narrow path:

In this area there are several places defined in the Tourist's Guide to
Wilderland - only entrances directly to dark stuffy passages from those
are mentioned.

From the large dry cave:

D (through crack) - 1st dark stuffy passage

From inside goblins' gate:

NE - 13th dark stuffy passage

From big goblins' cavern:

D - 5th dark stuffy passage

From dark winding passage:

SE - 12th dark stuffy passage

U (through crack) - large dry cave
NE - 2nd dark stuffy passage
S - 14th dark stuffy passage

2nd dark stuffy passage:

SE - 3rd dark stuffy passage

I think this is all correct, but the goblins themselves were a bit of a
