This is a discussion on ZX81 BETA game tester wanted...CHOPPER DROP 3000 - Sinclair ; BETA tester needed for what TIME magazine said is the breakthrough new game of the century, CHOPPER DROP 3000 for the ZX81. BETA tester needed for what TIME magazine said is the breakthrough new
game of the century, CHOPPER DROP 3000 for the ZX81.
With no luck so far on the conversion from BASIC to machine code in
sight (via Mcoder II), I have decided to have a quick beta session,
then release the BASIC code to the unwashed masses. Yeeeeehaaaaa!
The tester can of course dial up the speed of the game with the use of
an emulator, this makes the game far more lively and, dare I say it,
fun. But the extra speed may bring other challenges. I use ZXSP.
Please follow the link at the top of page on the following link:
http://web.mac.com/lord_philip/iWeb/sinclair/Home.html
(Please note: the animated gif is not an accurate indication of game
speed, it is only shown as a representation of the author's ideal)
Tester must be:
- ZX81 fanboy
- game freak
- somewhat masochistic
- willing to help me figure out why the damn thing ain't compiling.
However, I must first warn you, whoever takes on this beta challenge
needs to attempt to finish the game. CHOPPER DROP 3000 comprise of 5
levels, with each level escalating in difficulty. A full beta test
report will be needed, an possibly ignored.
Your mission is to pilot the RODO 3000 super copter against an army of
mechanized tanks.
Watch out for your fuel level, don't let it get too low. Naturally,
your helicopter explodes when that happens.
Don't forget about the Unidentified Flying Thing (UFT) which buzzes
your head dropping poo shaped bombs. You can't kill this sucker!
Finally, a quick hint, If you hover stationary, your bombs will drop
straight, However, if you are moving left or right and drop a bomb,
your bomb will retain this forward inertia and fall at an angle.
So...wanna play?

I though my program "YOOGOR" was the number one for 2007!
Sure I am interested in testing your game. I will not be able to
help you with the machine code but I sure can help with the BASIC code
of the ZX81 because all my games created so far are all written in
basic.

???
My "Train-Rush" is also the best game of the century (XIXth)...
"YOOGOR" for the XIVth century.
"CHOPPER DROP 3000" for the XXXth century.
No?

Sure ... but Chopper Drop 3000 must be code in classic Basic.
Phil plan to encode/compile it with MCoderII.
All André***'s advenced Basic fuctions could hang or crash the compiler.
I don't know if McoderII could be faster than André's codes...

Nothing is faster then Andre***?s Code!
