    Hmm... I tried using the LTO3 definition with an LTO4 (after changing
    the identifier string appropriately), and I'm getting only I/O errors
    and "invalid argument" errors when I try to use tar or set the
    blocksize with mt.

    The tape works - but seems limited to blocks of size 4096 - when I
    remove this definition.

    Is there anything special I need to know to make this work?

    Thanks.

    These both numbers have to be matched with the number of chars from your
    identifiers.

    IBM = 3 (chars)
    ULTRIUM-TD2 = 11(chars)

    I always thought that you need the these "Advance tape demon" stuff for
    newer tape drives. I have forgot the product name of the package.
