  1. Q:how to back up sgi 320 with windows 2000

    hi
    i recently acquired a sgi 320.
it came with windows 2000 pro installed and some programs.
i want to add some more but want to back up the scsi drive first before
in case the additions screw things up???
i tried using norton ghost 2001 and drive image but both require pure
dos and won't work via the command prompt to dos within windows 2000.
then i took the drives out and backed it up thru another computer
running win98/dos with norton ghost and was almost successful in that
it started up got thru the windows 2000 screen then a messge appeared
that stated something like i didn't have enough page file?/virtual
memory and to change these settings.it locked up at this point.
i tried booting in safe mode to get access to that menu to set this and
    the same thing!
i've yet to find the time to try backing it up again.
i don't have windows pro so i can't reload it.
has anyone any experience on what will do the trick?
    thanks

    Hi there,

Check out my SGI320 site at:

    www.btinternet.com/~sgi320

If you go to FAQs -> OS you will se a FAQ that deals with cloning the
OS/apps for the SGI320. The application to use is called NetInstall and is
by SGI (unsupported). This is also meant to work for NT by may also work for
    2000.

    Hope this helps
