help for dbx...

Hi all,

I am trying to debug a process using the dbx command. When I gave "dbx
-p <pid>" it gives the following output as below...

dbx version 7.3 MR 55458_Apr30_MR Apr 30 1999 13:44:41
dbx Warning: Unknown processor type 0xf, assuming this is not an R8000
Unknown processor type 0xf, assuming R4000.
(dbx)
(dbx)cont
Process <pid> terminated
(dbx)


After giving the "cont" command it doesn't give any output and simply
returns to the dbx prompt after termination of the process.

The OS version is IRIX 6.5.23m. I am not able to figure out whether it
is a problem with the dbx version or else the process itseft is not
generating a stack dump.

If someone knows the reason for the same please help me out with this.

Can't say I know the cause for sure, but it could be that it's simply a
too old dbx version.

On my 6.5.24 system I have:
dbx version 7.3.6 (95791_Apr06 MR) Apr 6 2004 10:33:31
