I have just the full 17cd set of Irix 6.5.21 which is now 6 months
old. This should be all that is necessary to do clean disk installs on
Octane, O2, I2 and Indy, no?
Specifically how do I copy the cd set to hard drive so inst can look
to this directory for everything it needs. And I won't have to feed it
cd after cd for x hours.....
I will use at least an 18gb harddrive on disk 2 so there will be
plenty of room for the whole set.
Is there any compelling reason to also include in the directory such
Irix updates/overlays issued since 8-03 and, if so, what form should
these files take in the dir.
I've tried to google this topic but only found a couple other oblique
references such as the one quoted above.
TIA,
