On that list is Indigo² Impact. Does that include R10000 models or
just the R4400 models of Indigo² Impact?

Note the link just says the systems will be in "retired mode" from 6.5.23
onwards (not .22) -- i.e. SGI will not fix platform-specific bugs for
    these platforms for 6.5.23.

That does *not* necessarily mean that SGI will pull all files from 6.5.23
that you need to load IRIX 6.5.23 on these machines.

Just to add to my own post: I was referring only to the list *you* posted,
not all the retired machines. And I wasn't making any *guarantees*, as all
bets are off as far as packaging is concerned frm 6.5.23 onwards (even if the
machines could theoretically run 6.5.23, if someone decides to rebuild a file
only for IPxx machines still actively supported, and finds it too difficult to
make older flavours, you'll be hosed).

Note that from 6.5.23 onwards, all machines that aren't in retired support
mode (including the O2 R5000) can run MIPS IV binaries, unlike, say, an
    Indy R4000.

Of course, given the current mandate for IRIX compatability, the last
IRIX for these machines ought to continue to be useful for a long
    time.
