    which vo plugin? For the gl plugins make sure to use the -vf format=RGB24
    switch to force the output colorspace.

    so long,

    Hi,
    I'm using the following in /usr/local/etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf

    vo=gl2
    vf=format=RGB24

    my gfxinfo is

    Mplayer also gives this output when I try to play some files

    any ideas???

    I see this line

    [gl2] You have OpenGL < 1.2 drivers, BAD (16bpp and BGR may be damaged!)

    but that error has been there since for ever and it didn't cause any
    problems. How can I update OpenGL drivers on irix for my Octane?

    Thanks for any and all help :-)

  5. Mplayer broken

    Hi,
    I'm still having the mplayer problem. I've tried re-installing from the
    tardist package. I've also tried running it from different accounts and
    even as root. No change. Still getting the purple colour :-(

    Not sure how I can recover mplayer to it's former glory but I can't watch
    any movies and thats what I use my SGI for most :-(
