[Win Virtual Server] Linux in Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1
I installed MS Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 on my Windows Server 2008
x64 SP1 and successfully created a new Virtual Machine with 5GB HDD
and 512MB RAM.

single-core Athlon64 4000+ which made absolutely no problem (the

Why don't you try with VirtualBox ?
I never had problems with it and its free! :)
