We are looking to fill the role of a UNIX Admin who is an experienced,
bright, analytically oriented and self-motivated individual. This
individual will have the opportunity to learn and grow with the
current team as the business develops further.
Responsibilities:
· Monitor and maintain infrastructure onsite as well as service
provider sites.
· Will be responsible for coordinating projects with service
providers
· Installation, configuration, tuning and maintenance of
Solaris and Linux Systems. Hardware and OS performance tuning
· Automate monitoring and maintenance tasks using various
scripting languages including shell, perl
Qualifications:
· Must have managed projects as well as worked on them
· Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
· Hands-on systems Administration experience on Sun Solaris,
RedHat Linux.
· Hardware knowledge of Sun and Compaq and Dell platforms is a
must. (6-8 years)
· VMware
· IT Security knowledge
· Must have a thorough knowledge of storage solutions such as
Sun Storedge, EMC, Compaq and Dell
· Thorough knowledge of backup & recovery, data retention,
archiving and disaster recovery processes. (3-4 years)
· Working experience with Veritas products including File
system (vxfs), Cluster servers and Netbackup.
· Knowledge and working experience with Data networking, IP
routing, IP addressing, subnets TCP/IP, FTP, DNS, SSH.(4-6 years)
· Must have a thorough knowledge of database technologies
including Oracle, LDAP, SQL
· Experience in trouble shooting and performance tuning of
Iplanet/Apache web-servers, Weblogic 8.x application servers
· Good network troubleshooting skills, and excellent verbal and
written communication skills
