I have hardware/motherboard SATA RAID 1 set-up on my two disks and LVM
across the top of an ext3 file system.

I booted using a rescue CD, and used lvm vgscan, vgchange and mounted
the /dev/Debian/root onto the rescue CDs RAM disk.

When I looked at the Debian files, the file structure appeared to be as
expected but the latest modification dates seemed to be from August and
didn't include my latest additions.

When I rebooted into Debian, all was as expected.

I can't work out what I was looking at! Any ideas?
