FC5 - trivial PKCS11 applications bomb (in libsoftokn3, part of nss3) mozilla? - Security

This is a discussion on FC5 - trivial PKCS11 applications bomb (in libsoftokn3, part of nss3) mozilla? - Security ; The most trivial PKCS11 applications imaginable seem to fail on FC5. 1. FC5 - trivial PKCS11 applications bomb (in libsoftokn3, part of nss3) mozilla?

    The most trivial PKCS11 applications imaginable seem to fail on FC5.
    Here's a typical core dump, that occured when I tried to initialiaze the
    PKCS11 library (libsoftokn3):

    #0 0x04a7e0e9 in sftk_EvaluateConfigDir (configdir=0x0, appName=0xbfab7918)
    at dbinit.c:126
    #1 0x04a7e193 in sftk_DBInit (configdir=0x0, certPrefix=0x4abb8bc "",
    keyPrefix=0x0, readOnly=0, noCertDB=0, noKeyDB=0, forceOpen=0,
    certdbPtr=0xbfab7978, keydbPtr=0xbfab7974) at dbinit.c:160
    #2 0x04a9436d in SFTK_SlotReInit (slot=0x9da6038, configdir=Variable
    "configdir" is not available.
    ) at pkcs11.c:2563
    #3 0x04a9464d in SFTK_SlotInit (configdir=0x0, params=0x9d97354,
    moduleIndex=0) at pkcs11.c:2672
    #4 0x04a9499a in nsc_CommonInitialize (pReserved=0xbfab7c80, isFIPS=0)
    at pkcs11.c:3028
    #5 0x04a94a54 in NSC_Initialize (pReserved=0xbfab7c80) at pkcs11.c:3052

    Do I have to do something special to use the soft token? Even if so, it
    definitely should return an error rather than blowing up.

    Of course, right after posting this I figure it out. Apparently, the
    code blows up if you initialize it the same way you're supposed to
    initialize every other PKCS11 module.
