I get this message repeatedly in my new OpenSUSE 10 linux install that I have
never seen before but has been constant since the new install:
Mar 21 22:58:08 gemini kernel: martian source 255.255.255.255 from
172.16.0.254, on dev eth2
Mar 21 22:58:08 gemini kernel: ll header:
ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:00:00:c5:c7:a0:74:08:00
Can someone tell me why I get it and how to get rid of it?
FYI, I have a DSL connection coming through one nic and out through second nic
and into a hub which connects multiple XP machines on a samba network.

The complaint is that there is some host at MAC address
00:00:c5:c7:a0:74 that sends a local net broadcast with
bogus sender address (XP's DHCP? Does anybody know?).
The address 255.255.255.255 is the local link broadcast
IP address, and it cannot be a legitime sender address.
