  1. ssh package for OS 5.0.6

    Hi group!

With the help of this group I got 5.0.6 running well on linux box
running VMware server. I installed an available version of OpenSSH,
3.4x I think, but it seems to have a broken or old ssh-keygen and no
sftp at all. What I need to do is have it rsync a folder of data each
day from a remote linux server to the SCO guest running on VMWare
server unattended (without entering a password). The keys I generate
on SCO won't work on a remote linux.

Can anyone recommend a link to an easy to install, working recent
version of ssh package, rsync for SCO 5.0.6?

I don't have curl either, because gwxlibs are missing and I don't know
where to get them. Hints wanted and appreciated. I do have wget and
    bzip

Last, I sure would love cut and paste to work in WMware console to SCO
server. Has anyone got that working?

    Thanks.

If you're posting about ssh, then don't mix in curl and vmware issues.

I added in the curl part because some install solutions need it. But
I'm sure you have the solution, so I'll check that out thanks.

For rsync, go look at Brian K. White's website. He's pretty cool, and
his stuff is at http://www.aljex.com/bkw/sco/. He's also got an FTP
    site at ftp://pcunix.com/pub/bkw.

For SSH, I'd install the rs506a patch, oss646c, gwxlibs, and
SCOSA-2006.11 to ge critical updates and a built-iin working system.
I'd also seriously consider hopping to OpenServer 5.0.7, which has
much better integration of such tools.

    ftp.sco.com/pub/openserver5/rs506a/rs506a.tar
    ftp.sco.com/pub/openserver5/oss646c/
    ftp.sco.com/pub/openserver5/opensrc/gwxlibs-2.1.0Ba/
    gwxlibs210Ba_vol.tar
    ftp.sco.com/pub/openserver5/opensrc/openssh-4.2p1/openssh42p1_vol.tar

These patches, together, will get you up to OpenSSH 4.2 with SCO
provided utilities, and get you the gwxlibs utilities. gwxlibs and the
gnutools from OSR 5.0.7 are my friend. gnutools provides a viable
update for many, though not all, of the old Skunkware utilities, and
I'm finding it a very useful toolset.

I've tried to ftp ftp.sco.com for days and it always times out and
drops connection. Is there a mirror for the sco ftp site that might
    have the above downloads?

Seems to be running fine. An issue with your FTP client?

Logging in and looking is not the same as actually downloading. They
may be hammered by frightened people looking at the court case and
getting ready for the worst, attempting to mirror the last of the
updates. Bob, where are you? I don't have a reliable public site, but
if you've got something I can push to, I'd be happy to send you copies.
