OK,
We got an old NT 4.0 PDC. We got a Compaq Proliant that was an Oracle
Server - Quad 550 Xeon CPU's, 4 GB Ram, like 350 GB HD, empty bays on
and external hard drive case.
It has SCO Unixware 7 on it. And we also have copies of Red Hat
Enterprise Linux.
My idea is to put Unixware or Linix and Samba on it and use that instead
of Win 2k3 (Did not see and Samba for Unixware though)
BUT -
I was wondering, can users create a folder on a share ??? Say you create
a directory (folder) for a use named John, lets call it john1 and give
the person permissions to access it. Can they create a folder on thier
own from a client PC ??? Or is this something that must be set up on
hte server by root ???
