  1. TELNET on Fedora ??

    Hi,

I need to make a test on Fedora 8, with a Telnet... and seems NOT to be
    enabled.

The package is installed, but if I have a look into /etc/xinedtd there
    is no TELNET file ?
I thought that in CentOS for instance, you have such file ?

Is there any changes into FEDORA 8 ?

    Thanks

Perhaps if you looked at "yum list", you would notice "telnet-server" as a
    separate package?

And why do you need this instead of SSH?

    hi,

Effectively, that was the problem.. :-)

I am installing and configuring Sendmail.. and Iam not a specialist.
one of the test is to do 'telnet :25'
So, being NOT an expert, I prefer to follow this ...

    Thanks again

    Hi,

for this you don't need the telnet server. In the example you give you
use telnet to connect to port 25 (which is used by sendmail).
