  1. Fedora 8 sync issue Palm <--> Calendar (Evolution)

I have been trying to sync my palm Z22 to Evolution in FC8. The Palm
syncs, but there is no conduit for Evolution. In Evolution the
send/receive just flashes some box, but way to fast to read.

    I am running 2.6.23.9-85.fc8.

gpilot is broken in Fedora, it has been for some time. There was a udev
change that broke gpilot which they introduced into FC6, F7 and f8. Here
    is the bugzilla status,

    https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=281641

I put Suse 10.3 on one of my machines and used that to sync my Treo with
Evolution. I also tried Ubuntu Gutsy and CentOS5, gpilot works on Gutsy
but the version of Evolution is incompatible with Fedora 7, the same is
true for CentOS5. Suse has F7 Evolution compatibility and a working
gpilot. F8 has a version of Evolution that is very incompatible with
previous versions. I found that the F8 Evolution crashed in the contact
manager, it also modified the database so that F7 couldn't read the
database anymore. I had to go back to a backup of by .evolution directory
    in order to recover.
