renaming wlan0 to eth1 - Redhat

This is a discussion on renaming wlan0 to eth1 - Redhat ; I have a ethernet adapter and some software someone wrote only uses devices that start with eth ie eth0 eth1 ect... So when in install my ethernet card it shows up as wlan0, how can i get it to show ...


Fix Unix > Linux > Redhat > renaming wlan0 to eth1

Default renaming wlan0 to eth1

I have a ethernet adapter and some software someone wrote only uses devices
that start with eth ie eth0 eth1 ect... So when in install my ethernet
card it shows up as wlan0, how can i get it to show up as eth1?
I am using redhat 7.3

Take a look at /etc/modules.conf, do a `man modules.conf`, and the best
advise I can give is browse to google groups and search with related key
words. The google search will almost always turn up both positive and
negative experiences. This helps with things to do and things to avoid.
