After I freshly installed mandrake 10, 3 things happened:
    1. after logging out X would freeze (ATI Radeon 7000 series)
    2. sndconfig refuses to configure my Sound Blater Vibra16 audio card
    3. I can't set the time properly

None of these things happened in 9.2

reinstall 9.2, stop crossposting, use a more descriptive subject line, and
    google for "usenet etiquette".

How did you format that partition for i have found using the
linux quick format is not very good every time i have done it
i get problems so i use partition magic and do a secure delete
i never get problems that way. If you have done this ignor
or it could just be a bad install

Have you ever heard of punctuation? You have 6 or 7 sentences, but only 2
capital letters and 1 period! It would be much nicer to read a post with some
    grammatical structure...
