Changing the Linux log facility
I have posted this one to comp.os.linux.misc a few days ago. Since
there was no response I am posting it to comp.os.linux.redhat (might
have been the correct group anyway...)
I have some network devices which use local7 as their syslog facility.
Unfortunately, no other syslog facility may be configured on these
According to the default /etc/syslog.conf Linux is also using local7
and writes its data to /var/log/boot.log.
How can I configure Linux (Fedora Core 1) to use any other logging
facility to free up local7 for logging network device data?
