If the firewall is 192.168.1.1, you don't want to make the IP address of
your machine 192.168.1.1 also.

If you can't get the firewall to forward DNS queries, you can extract the
IP address(es) of the nameserver(s) it was given, and put them directly
into /etc/resolv.conf (nb: no 'e')
