I am running RH ES3.0, on a HP DL360 machine.

I have a 500GB partition, with a ext3 filesystem on it.
The storage device is a SATA array, with HW striping/mirroring.

It is attached via Fibre-channel.

The Linux machine sees it as /dev/sda1

A standard EXT3 filesystem was created on /dev/sda1.

After copying 300GB of data on it, data disappeared.

And --here's where it is weird--
only FILES inside directories disappeared. The directory structure is
completely intact.
ALL files, NO directories went away...

The RAID controller reports no errors on drives or anything related.

Never heard of such a thing before.

Any ideas?

For now, we're replacing everything, new/different server, new disk
array, different filesystem...
