Cross posting is generally NOT a good idea. Generally people that look at
one of the redhat newgroups, look at a few of them. Stick to posting to
one newsgroup.
You can upgrade to the 2.6.3(if you're brave engough to jump into a kernel
so fresh out of the gate).
You can't unfortunately just rpm the kernel. You'll have to go through
the process of recompiling it and installing it. You WILL need more than
likely to go through and do some level of customizations because unlike
the stock kernel from redhat, everything won't be set to load.

I've got FC1 now running with kernel 2.6.5, thanks to help from
http://fedoranews.org/jorge/howto/howto01.shtml
and an rpm from
http://people.redhat.com/arjanv/2.6/RPMS.kernel/
You need to make a few adjustments to your system files, and I still don't
have sound working properly, but I'll live with that until FC2 comes out.
