Removing Kernel - Redhat

This is a discussion on Removing Kernel - Redhat ; Hello, I am running Fedora Core. I have installed kernel version 2.6 for testing. Now I would like to remove this kernel. How do I uninstall? Tried RPM -e kernel-2.6.1-1.65.i686.rpm Received error: package kernel-2.6.1-1.65.i686.rpm is not installed. Thanks Ted...

    Hello,

    I am running Fedora Core. I have installed kernel version 2.6 for testing.
    Now I would like to remove this kernel. How do I uninstall? Tried RPM -e
    kernel-2.6.1-1.65.i686.rpm Received error: package
    kernel-2.6.1-1.65.i686.rpm is not installed.

    I found my answer: rpm -e kernel-2.6.1-1.65

    Glad you found the answer, but for anyone else reading the thread, if you
    run "rpm -q kernel" (from terminal prompt, without quote marks) it'll
    report back the exact names of the items installed. That'll help you find
    the one you're looking for.
