Hello:
1) Latest kernels do not work with slocate (updatedb)
With the latest kernels 2.6.8-1.521, and 2.6.7-1.494.2.2 updatedb
just does not work.
updatedb still works fine with the older FC2 original kernel
2.6.5-1.358
2) Since the FC2, aand actually kernel 2.6 Nvidia did not have a
really working 3D driver for their video cards.
Nvidia just released (end aug 2004) a driver for their card, (their
web site_, which seem to work fine with FC2 (original) kernel
2.6.5-1.358
Package name: NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run
I tried to install it with the newest kernel 2.6.8-1.521, and did
not get anywhere (error messages, could not get the graphic to work).
Conclusion: Unless you have a very compelling reason to use the latest
kernel, suggest that you stick with the original FC2 kernel.
