Hello,

Basically, I want to use my Linux box as a local spam filter, while
still checking email via the Windows machines on my network. ideally
what I would like would be to set up a sort of spam filtered proxy pop
server, to which my windows machines would connect and pass the info for
the real pop server. So for example, if I were setting up a Windows
machine to check mail, my pop server address would be 192.168.1.107, and
my pop user name would be something like myaddress@mail.comcast.net.
I am a complete newbie when it comes to setting up email in Linux so I'm
not sure where to start. I assume I would want to use Spam Assassin to
do the actual filtering, but I'm not sure where to go from there.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
