Default How do I sync Evolution to a Treo 650?

I've been able to get do lists and backups from my Treo using pilot-xfer
as root. Now how do I get it to sync to Evolution? I tried running the

gpilotd-control-applet

as root but it couldn't make a connection. What do I need to do to be able
to sync my Evolution contact list and calender with the Treo?

BTW here is what I did to get it to work with pilot-xfer

mknod /dev/ttyUSB0 c 188 0
mknod /dev/ttyUSB1 c 188 1
chmod 777 /dev/ttyUSB*

ln -s /dev/ttyUSB1 pilot
ln -s /dev/ttyUSB1 visor
ln -s /dev/ttyUSB0 palm

added the following to /usr/share/gnome-pilot/devices.xml
