Default Ndiswrapper breaks Nvidia drivers

I just installed ndiswrapper on FC3 and it broke the Nvidia driver. I've
been running 32 bit FC3 with a 2.6.11.5 + Win4Lin kernel and the 7167
Nvidia driver on my Compaq R3000z Athlon64 laptop, everything was fine. I
installed ndiswrapper and then when I rebooted the machine the Nvidia
driver wouldn't load. I tried reinstalling the Nvidia driver, still
wouldn't work. I also freshened up the 2.6.11.5 installation with a make
install, make modules_install and a fresh build of the Nvidia driver,
still didn't fix the problem. I was able to go back to my previous 2.6.10
kernel and after reinstalling the Nvidia driver everything was fine.

Does anyone have both ndiswrapper and the Nvidia drivers installed on the
same system?

Since ndiswrapper is a module, why did you not try removing the ndiswrapper
modules and see if the nvidia came back. Or did you compile ndiswrapper
into the kernel? (a very silly thing to do).
Remember that a change in the kernel requires a recompile of all modules.
A n installation of new module does not.

I didn't build ndiswrapper into the kernel, I just did the make install on
the ndiswrapper 1.1 sources. Doing a make uninstall didn't fix the
problem. I also did what I thought was a clean reinstall of 2.6.11.5, I
deleted /lib/modules/2.6.11.5 and all of the 2.6.11.5 files under /boot, I
rebuilt the kernel from a clean directory and then reinstalled it. I also
deleted /etc/ndiswrapper. The Nvidia driver still won't run on 2.6.11.5. I
also edited the kernel Makefile so that it would install the kernel as
2.6.11.5W4L and installed that, didn't fix the problem. The old 2.6.10
kernel does work and 2.6.11.5 was working fine before I did the
ndiswrapper install. Is there something else that ndiswrapper might have
tainted?
