The SystemLog setting in proftpd.conf was recognised immediately, but to
get the TransferLog to write to the right location I had to specify that
inside _each_ directive rather than just in the 'general'
section of the configuration file. Maybe it could be added instead in a
directive, but it's working now so I'll just leave it alone.
