There are some issues with how proftpd was handling the ABOR command; see:

http://bugs.proftpd.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3D2920

Thus if you're using a version of proftpd older than 1.3.1rc3, I'd recommen=
d upgrading to that version, and seeing if the ABOR issue still exists. If=
so, then please let me know; I suspect that proftpd may still have an issu=
e when handling ABOR for uploads (as opposed to downloads).
