Can someone please assist.

I have the following installed:

[root@boltonvm2 home]# proftpd --version
- ProFTPD Version 1.3.0a

And my config is:

ServerName "FTP Server"
ServerType standalone
DefaultServer on
Port 21
Umask 007
MaxInstances 30
User root
Group root
AllowOverwrite on
# Lock rd_web to the website directories
DefaultRoot /home
# Log to a seperate log file, not syslog
SystemLog /var/log/xferlog
# Force showing of . (dot) files
ListOptions "-a"
#
PersistentPasswd no
# Security settings (from orig. proftpd config.)

DenyAll

When I login with a local user I get:

ftp> ls -la
227 Entering Passive Mode (127,0,0,1,136,170).
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for file list
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 1024 Jun 22 02:49 .

drwx------ 2 root root 12288 Apr 24 10:29 lost+found
drwx------ 3 test test 1024 Jun 19 18:28 test

The (?) represent an NIS user.

When I set the PersistentPasswd to no, and login with an NIS user I get:

ftp> ls
227 Entering Passive Mode (127,0,0,1,136,156).
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for file list
drwxr-xr-x 4 (?) root 1024 Jun 22 02:49 .

drwx------ 2 (?) root 12288 Apr 24 10:29 lost+found
drwx------ 3 test test 1024 Jun 19 18:28 test

And I don't see any of the local users, except the new one I have created.

What is wrong ?
