    Is it true that Microsoft's Windows XP PPP protocol blocs an application on
    the server side from opening a port on the client side? If so, is there any

    How do you mean?? Is your Windows XP the "client" or the "server" in this
    case? You may be running into Microsoft's firewall - if it's enabled, it
    will prevent most incoming TCP SYN requests.
