PPP in Debian Woody
I am trying to troubleshoot a connection from
Oberon PPP to the PPP in Debian Woody. According
to RFC1549 I expect the frame from Debian to
begin with FF03. Oddly enough, it begins 0A0D.
Also, there is no C021 which would normally
identify LCP. Does anyone have any insight about
this? The pertinent excerpt from the communication
transcript follows.

That's not PPP. That's ASCII text. It says:
"EMSI_REQA77E"
"arnot!login:"
That Debian system isn't running PPP. You might want to look into
mgetty.
