    You can *try* adding the pppd option default-asyncmap. That's the PPP
    default asyncmap and what the peer implicitly requests by not specifying
    an asyncmap.

    Yes, each side Acks the other but the rest of the log smells like the peer
    is broken with respect to asyncmap negotiation, which is, unfortunately,
    not uncommon.

    Be aware that I have no idea what capi means or where the capiplugin came
    from, although it appears to have something to do with an ISDN connection.
    Also there are other peculiarities in the log that I find are extra-ordinary.
    So this answer may be way off-track.

    Mind you so has your side. Why you would ask for asyncmap 0 etc when
    they have already agreed to it is pretty wreird as well.

    YOur ISP is broken. There is nothing you can do except complain. If the
    ISP is you, then you need to set up the remote end properly.
