]I am trying to get my RedHat 7.2 Linux distro at home to connect, via a
]dialup modem, to my employers network (Yes I have authority to do this).
]My employers are using Windows2000 as the dialin server.
]The connection is established successfully using a Windows2000 laptop
]which my employes have lent to me, so the Server end is OK.

That does not follow.

]Jul 5 21:58:07 localhost pppd[2438]: sent [LCP ConfRej id=0x0 < 17 04 01 9f>]

This could be the problem, although you did not indicate that there was callback involved with the
Windows machine.

Why the weird mrru?

]Notice that it gets past the CHAP authentiation part, and then dies
]later.

It may be objecting to the lack of stack compression on your side. Who knows.
It says nothing about why it is rejecting you.

]Any ideas as to what is missing on my end.
]It must be something I am not configuring.

]I am using pppd version 2.4.1 (compiled with MSCHAP support).

]My /etc/ppp/options file is:

]crtscts
]modem
]noauth
]defaultroute
]lock
]debug
]bsdcomp 15
^^^^^^^^^^^^ get rid of this. The other side does not understand it.

]ipcp-accept-local
]ipcp-accept-remote
]mp
^^ Why this?

]noipdefault
]mrru 1614
^^^^^^^^^^ ?? what is this for?

]Any my connect script is:

]#!/bin/sh
]/usr/sbin/pppd name 'mylogonname' remotename 'WorkMachine' debug connect "/usr/sbin/chat -v -e -r /tmp/ppp.rep -f /usr/local/bin/eldon.chat" /dev/modem 115200 modem

]So, any help appreciated.

]Regards

]Nick
