i am an emacs user and hate the ibm keyboard layout; especially
annoying are the placement of the "esc" and the "fn" key.
xev shows that the keycode generated by "fn" is 227,
but doing xmodmap -e 'keycode 227 = Control_L'
does not make "fn" work like a another control key.
has anyone worked this out?
Also, xev does not generate a key event upon pressing the "access ibm"
which i wish to map to the "fn" key.
any help would be much appreciated.
