    Yes, an mct_u232. Model UC232A SN R9-200012AD0015
(made in taïwan, of course )

I was searching a long time to make it work with the mct_u232 module,
    but it'doesn't work correctly.

I now know why : simply load the pl2303 has solved all my problems :-/

(I now understand why it doesn't work with win$ and Mac OS 9/X) :-) )

    fyi :

    cat /proc/bus/usb/devices give me :

    P: Vendor=0557 ProdID=2008 Rev= 0.01 # *very important*
    C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=a0 MxPwr=100mA
    I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 3 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=serial
    E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 10 Ivl=1ms
    E: Ad=02(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
    E: Ad=83(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms

    and à tail -f /var/log/messages give me :

    tomate:/home/eric# tail -f /var/log/messages
    Jul 6 00:34:52 tomate syslogd 1.4.1#10: restart.
Jul 6 00:37:06 tomate kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:04.2-2, assigned
    address 2
    Jul 6 00:37:06 tomate kernel: usbserial.c: PL-2303 converter detected
    Jul 6 00:37:06 tomate kernel: usbserial.c: PL-2303 converter now
attached to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs)

No problem : it work's fine with gtkam or gphoto + libusb + an Olympus
    C830 (an old one, now ;-) )

btw : it works better on my ibook, than on my x86...and I don't really
know why !! (better hardware ?)
