I have the need to have a private key server (Not serving private
keys, but serving key privately) on a local lan, to use with gpg and
gpg4win suite (including winPT and the outlouk 2003 SP2 plugin, and
gpa). (and also kgpg when on linux)
Do you have any recommendation ?
So far I have found:
- the original (?) pksd server
- openpksd
- onak
does not support subkey nor photo-ID.
fails to dialog successfully with some of the key-managing
clients, especially when posting keys from client to the server.
It's really a problem, as I cannot enforce the client to use!
(it's fine with gpg on the command line, but I have a lot of
window-trapped users which I cannot bother to move to a CLI (spell
boss if you can)).
Also, limits the search to perfect match of email, which is not
good (not as good as which allows partial matches)
under investigation soon... but I have to set up an apache
webserver first, that's another story.
I am not concerned with server-synchronisation (this could be
handled by hand, as for a start, I won't have a server-peer to
dialog with (and setting SMTP is another nightmare, especially on
SSL for our mailgatewway)).
I'm looking for:
- support of subkeys & Photo-ID
- perfect dialog with all the Windows-GUI (deposit and retrieval of
Is-it some holy graal or have you some hope for me ?
